About Andrew Wynn Owen
Andrew Wynn Owen is a fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. He received the Newdigate Prize in 2014 and an Eric Gregory Award in 2015. The Multiverse, his first collection, was published by Carcanet in 2018. With the Emma Press, he has published pamphlets, including a narrative poem, lyrics, and a collaboration (with John Fuller).
Andrew’s recording was made along with the other winners of the Foyle Young Poet of the Year. Talking about the experience of winning the prize and making a recording for the Poetry Archive Andrew said:
“Foyle introduced me to others who care about poetry, and I have been thankful ever since. It helped to awaken a sense of the deep good that poetry can do.
Recording for the archive was like a dream: the room was so still and quiet, words turned over in new light, then I stumbled back into the world of pavement and traffic.”
The Foyle Young Poets’ Recording took place on 23rd October 2018 at the Soundhouse Studio, Acton, West London.
The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is sponsored by the Foyle Foundation and run by the Poetry Society. This Poetry Archive collection has been supported by Garfield Weston.
