What My Mother Said

My mother always used to say,
When I sat sobbing at tea,
“Don’t worry my girl, you’re gorgeous!
And there’s plenty more fish in the sea!”

“Now wave him goodbye, he’s far too shallow,
Just trust, you’ll have what you wish!”
“Well, thank you so much for your helpful advice.
But I couldn’t get off with a fish!”
